Maintenance Electrician, Leister, Up to £35,000 + 15% weekend shift allowance, Full-time, Permanent
We are seeking an experienced Electrician to join our facilities maintenance team at a secure HMP site. This permanent, on-site position offers a competitive salary plus a weekend working allowance. The role involves performing a combination of planned and reactive electrical maintenance, ensuring all systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational within a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance on site
- Diagnose and replace faulty domestic electrical components
- Respond promptly to electrical faults and breakdowns
- Conduct thorough fault-finding and problem-solving across electrical systems
- Carry out electrical installations in compliance with current wiring regulations
- Inspect and test electrical installations to BS7671 standards
- Monitor and manage critical electrical spares and stock levels
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety procedures at all times
- Support on-site carbon reduction and sustainability initiatives
Requirments:
- Recognised technical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2365 Parts 1–3, NVQ Level 3)
- Valid 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification (or 17th Edition with willingness to upgrade; support available)
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance, testing, and fault-finding
- Strong knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations
- Ability to work at height and in secure environments
- Comfortable working independently and using initiative
