CNC Machinist, Coatbridge, £17.50 per hour, Temp to Perm.

New opportunity to work as a CNC Machinist with a well-established heavy engineering company based in Coatbridge. This is a workshop-based role suited to experienced machinists with a strong background in heavy engineering, capable of working with large components such as heavy workpipes.

Machinist Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate horizontal boring and milling machines to execute precise machining tasks on large, heavy-duty components.
• Manufacture oversized parts by boring, shaping, and finishing workpieces such as industrial pipes and structural assemblies.
• Interpret technical drawings and engineering blueprints to ensure components are machined to exact specifications.
• Determine and apply correct tooling, speeds, feeds, and materials based on specific job requirements and tolerance limits.
• Perform ongoing and final quality checks to verify conformance to accuracy, safety, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular equipment maintenance and ensure the work area adheres to safety guidelines and operational best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Extensive hands-on experience in precision machining within heavy engineering and industrial manufacturing environments.
• Proven proficiency in operating horizontal boring machines, as well as manual and vertical milling machines for large-scale components.
• Highly skilled in interpreting complex engineering and technical drawings, ensuring precise adherence to specifications and tolerances.
• In-depth knowledge of tooling selection, machine setup, and advanced machining techniques for fabricating and finishing large metal parts.
