Quality Inspector, £17.64 per hour, Glasgow
Aspirare Recruitment are currently looking for a Quality Inspector to join a leading Engineering company based in Glasgow.
Key Duties:
- Perform thorough inspections at various stages of production using CMMs and other precision measuring tools
- Select the appropriate attachments and probes for each inspection to ensure accurate measurements
- Design and document fixturing requirements for consistent part evaluation
- Produce accurate and detailed inspection reports in both manual and CMM formats
- Review measurement data, identify deviations or trends approaching tolerance limits, and work closely with production to implement corrective actions
- Visually inspect final components to ensure compliance with aesthetic and dimensional requirements
- Continuously assess and refine CMM programs to enhance efficiency while maintaining data reliability
- Carry out routine calibrations and equipment checks on CMMs
- Generate corrective action documentation for non-conforming components and support the resolution process
- Approve initial samples and in-process parts for full production release
- Provide hands-on support for inspection both within the quality department and on the manufacturing floor

Experience & Technical Requirements:
- Proficient in the use of CMM equipment and traditional measuring techniques (including vision systems and shadow graphs)
- Working knowledge of PCDMIS software is essential; familiarity with Calypso software (Zeiss systems) is advantageous
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Experience writing inspection instructions, control plans, and standard operating procedures
- Prior background in precision machining or engineering environments preferred
