Quality Inspector –Glasgow – £19.30 p/h + Overtime + Pension + 33 Days Holiday – Permanent Role – Day & Night Shifts
Aspirare are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Quality Inspector to join a high-performing engineering team based in Glasgow. This role is critical to ensuring that all quality inspection functions, including CMM operation, are performed to a high standard across the production process. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Goods In, First Off, Running, Pre & Post Subcontract, and Final Inspections
- Set up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and conduct manual inspections with precision
- Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure calibration of measuring equipment is up to date
- Manage non-conforming products and support customer returns processing
- Prepare and maintain First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) with meticulous attention to detail
- Collaborate with production teams to interpret drawings and identify critical dimensions
- Ensure strict compliance with AS9100 standards, HSE policies, and internal Zero Defect (ZD) initiatives
- Actively participate in 6S and Continuous Improvement programs to enhance quality and efficiency
Requirements:
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
- Proficient in using manual measuring equipment and first principle inspection techniques
- Familiarity with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), including setup and reporting; experience with PC-DMIS is desirable
- Understanding of equipment calibration processes, manual handling, and safe use of lifting gear
- Computer literate with experience in quality systems and documentation standards
- Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) regulations and AS9100 quality standards
- Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies and a proactive mindset towards continuous improvement
