Aspirare Recruitment Scotland are looking for an additional Mechanical Fitter to join a growing team within one of our busiest clients in the Aberdeen area. Due to continuous success, an experienced Mechanical Fitter is needed to join this evolving and exciting team. Their facilities are of a market leading standard and their expertise are respected in the field of Steel Fabrication and Mechanical Fitting within the Oil & Gas Industry.
The main purpose of this Mechanical Fitter is to prepare the machined components for inspection, undertake disassembly and assembly of component parts and to carry out all duties in a responsible manner at all time.
The role will involve:
•Dressing, deburring and polishing machined components prior to inspection
•Undertaking disassembly and assembly of component parts, working to engineering drawings
•Undertake marking out of components, prior to subsequent machining operations
•Maintain a safe and tidy working environment and make appropriate use of all PPE
•Able to read and understand Assembly/Test procedures
•Capable of stamping components at beginning of dis assembly process for traceability
•Ability to read and interpret Assembly drawing and B.O.M.s
•Work in a safe environmentally friendly manner giving due diligence to colleagues and work place
•Carry out any other reasonable task as requested by Management
Essential Skills and Abilities:
•Practical experience of working to engineering drawings.
•Experience of working hand-held air and electric power tools.
•Experience of working to engineering drawings
•Have a sound knowledge f the pressure testing processes
•Experience of working with hand-held air and electric power tools, torque tools and any others as required
•Have a working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
•Have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship in a precision engineering environment.
