FIELD BASED ROLE COVERING THE CENTRAL BELT OF SCOTLAND
SALARY: BASIC £40000 – 45000 PLUS CAR ALLOWANCE £5000
21 days holiday per annum (plus Bank Holidays)
Pension scheme after successful completion of probationary period
HOURS: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm (Home based with occasional visits to HQ in Midlands)
A UK based market leader in school and nursery supplies, working in partnership with local authorities and early years groups to supply free and subsidised products to children in pre-schools, nurseries and primary schools.
This is a relationship building role, liaising with and providing an excellent service to schools and nurseries across Scotland. (Current customer base of over 300).
We are looking for an Account Manager located in Scotland (between Glasgow and Edinburgh) who can liaise with our stakeholders from local authorities and governmental bodies to our existing suppliers and local schools and nurseries to assist with their needs. This is a prefect role for a tenacious, energetic and focused individual with a can do attitude. They will be the face of the organisation and our representation to our Scottish market and market influencers such as local authorities and government.
This role is essentially that of an Account Manager with a very wide range of skills – a ‘Jack of all trades’. The successful candidate will build relationships at a very high level from local authorities to government representatives and with our customers to maintain current business and engage with potential customers to gain new business.
This role requires an outgoing personality with excellent communication and sales, PR and marketing background and experience; ready to utilise necessary aspects to successfully manage our account in Scotland. This role is for a credible and dynamic individual. This is not raw sales; this is about networking, PR and influencing at the highest level.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to deal with challenges and succeed in stressful situations. They will achieve this by having a very high intellectual ability – including the ability to learn and research. Having a professional attitude and master the ability to build report with a wide range of people is essential to the role, as well as being resilient with a positive view on change.
Responsibilities and Duties
Promote the brand, by utilising PR and marketing skills and experience
Keep in regular contact with the Head Office – Sales Director and produce monthly Board reports for the Sales Director
Promote the organisation as a whole and the related relationships at a very high level and work with Scottish local authorities, government bodies and other stakeholders (charities etc.). The relationships are already in place at some level and the account manager will maintain and build on these
Assist current customers; Scottish local suppliers or nurseries and schools with any queries they may have
Help local nurseries and schools understand how the organisation operates, strengthen relationships and build new ones
Be the face of the Scottish presence – our eyes and ears
Possess capabilities to identify potential problems especially in relation to competition and able to devise and advise on solutions
Work with our suppliers to understand where their product comes from and communicate this information to current customers and have this part of their promotional campaign to the local authorities and government bodies as well as other stakeholders
They will make regular visits to current schools and nurseries to ensure that their account is managed to their satisfaction
They to be able to communicate effectively at very high level with others face to face, on the telephone and in writing
They will have KPIs including visiting approx. 2-3 settings/dairies/stakeholders per day amongst the work on marketing and PR in order to build relationships with Scottish local authorities, government bodies and other stakeholders (charities etc.)
Qualification and Skills
The successful candidate will be educated to a graduate level and will have had at least 3-5 years employment experience in a similar role – Account Management.
They will need to have knowledge and background (at any level of) PR and Marketing, sales and having managed accounts which have been varied requiring a wide range of skills.
