Buyer, Glasgow, Salary £25,000 to £27,000 per annum + Private Company Pension, Private Healthcare Package & More!


A Buyer required to join an established procurement company in Glasgow, where they serve a bespoke engineering client base. As a Buyer, you will be a key player in ensuring the seamless flow of goods, materials, and services, aligning with operational needs, and maintaining the highest standards of quality, cost-effectiveness, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Execute procurement strategies, lead negotiations, and build strong supplier relationships.
  • Implement new MRP systems.
  • Efficiently raise purchase orders through various channels.
  • Proactively resolve issues related to deliveries, quality, and invoices.
  • Identify savings opportunities through benchmarking and value engineering.
  • Collaborate with clients, attend meetings, and ensure key deliverables are met.
  • Manage suppliers to meet project timelines, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Participate in the assessment of costs, bids, and proposals for potential projects.


Role Requirements:


  • Minimum 18 months of procurement experience.
  • Proven track record of achieving savings and delivery targets.
  • Strong negotiation skills in a complex environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Resourceful, self-motivated, and capable of independent work.
  • Project planning skills and commercial awareness.
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Publisher).
