Manual Grinder Responsibilities:

  • Machine Setup & Operation: Operate both manual and CNC grinding machines (Jones & Shipman) for surface and cylindrical grinding
  • Material Handling: Load/unload components efficiently to keep production running smoothly
  • Precision Work: Adjust settings and parameters to meet exact customer specs and tight tolerances
  • Technical Interpretation: Read and understand engineering drawings and documents accurately
  • Safety First: Follow all safety procedures and company policies on the shop floor
  • Record Keeping: Keep detailed records of your work, adjustments, and any machine issues
  • Maintenance: Perform routine checks and minor maintenance to ensure machines run at their best
  • Preparedness: Ensure machines are stocked with tools and materials to avoid delays
  • Team Contribution: Support your team during busy times with a hands-on, flexible approach

 

Manual Grinder Requirements:

  • Time-served Grinder or Engineer with hands-on experience in manual and CNC grinding (surface and cylindrical)
  • Proficient with Jones and Shipman equipment
  • Confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Experienced in delivering high-precision work to tight tolerances
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and safety standards
  • A detail-oriented team player with good communication skills and a strong focus on quality
